Hey bloggers! it's your favorite and I'm back with another blog. This time we will get into the gathering of supplies used in our film. Due to the nature of our film, we needed a lot of specific supplies. For one we contemplated using fake blood for a scene. We did have certain ideas for this concept but in the end we scrapped the idea. I felt it wasn't really necessary for the angles we used. I also didn't like the idea of wasting my hot sauce. I however did like the idea of using a knife as a murder weapon. The thing in this case however was that fake blood would almost be necessary for this scene. The knife and fake blood (hot sauce) were both conveniently found in my kitchen. Next we wanted to use a welcome mat for one of the scenes. We would use the mat and key for a scene. The key would be no problem for me and my group as we could use my house key. However the mat was not going to be as easy. I used to have a welcome mat but it got old and sort of messed up. I kn...

Good morning bloggers it's me back again with another blog. Today we get into some of the editing difficulties me and my group faced. Firstly we had a problem of movie clip length. This was a reoccurring problem in our group. The video would always come out too long and we'd have to do more compressing. Or sometimes the video would be too short and we'd add more to it making the video too long. Our main problem here was too much content.  And with that content too much length with each individual clip. Like clockwork this problem arose again. Our video became too long based on the assignment rubric. So naturally we began to cut down with some clips. That however didn't work out well due to the fact that we were now missing content. So I came up with the idea that we should re-watch our video and organize clips on importance. The most important being the one closest to the storyboard.  Hello fellow bloggers I’m back with another entry. This blog is more of a continuation of my previous one on our film day. This time we’ll just get into the things that happened on our second day of filming as a group. So as I said last time we started filming already at this point. We made ample progress as most of our video was done. Our second day of filming would be mostly our inside scenes. As well as other scenes we’d be able to get done inside. Since we filmed almost exclusively inside we met up later than last time. We only needed a few scenes of me and Suse. We also needed a few opening shots. Me and my group also ended up adding different diverse angles. That we knew would help our movie come to life almost. We wanted to make sure to pay more attention to lighting of certain scenes now.   Good evening bloggers! and welcome back to another blog from yours truly. I'll get right into all the new information on the filming of our movie. That's right we're filming a small portion of a movie. A movie intro to a thriller to be exact not too long in runtime. My group of Suse and Tianna started the first bit of filming on January 28th. With backup filming dates being scattered across mid to late February. Me and Suse and a guest we had on the set got most of the work done this day. Tianna didn't end up having a ride which did set us back unexpectedly. However we did what we could with the people we had and we're able to reschedule to later filming dates. Overall the filming we got done may have seemed minor and not too significant. But with how short of a movie we had, any amount of film helped.   Hello bloggers! it's me back with another blog. This one will also be focused on the film process of the group. Me and my group set up another film date for early February. However as usual things did not go according to plan. As usual someone's schedule was off aid rides were no longer confirmed like we thought they were. With this we had to find a way to film. Whatever we could film with the people we had to go with it. I was able to get certain angles and settings filmed and sent to our editor. Like said previously any little amount of progress was better than nothing. We luckily were only having complications with scheduling early and not closer to the due date of our movie. Me and my group met up to compare schedules and available times for filming. The most important thing here was to remember organization.   Scene 1: Suse walks into the room and sees Aurum dead on the floor, Suse screams in shock. Scene 2: The rest of the group (Stewart and Aaliyah) runs into the living room to see what scared Suse so much. Scene 3: Aaliyah starts panicking and Suse joins in. Stewart looks obviously disturbed. Scene 4: They then all walk out into the kitchen area still disturbed and shaken up.  What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The titles displayed are credits mostly. Crediting of directors, actors, producers, costume designers etc. With the main title showing up at the end of the opening sequence.  - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? Imagery of the U.S. flag and Captain America are prioritized amongst the other plethora of imagery used in the opening sequence. The sequence continuously links all the pictures and imagery to stars of the flag and Captain America's shield.  - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the opening sequences? The film establishes a feeling of the genre by using dark colors and fast paced yet still brooding music. The music and imagery perfectly align to give of that feeling of mystery. The imagery of skulls and tentacles and the parallel between those images and the images of stars and stripes also establish a sense of fear and almost hopelessness. Things like executive producers and director titles are shown in the opening sequence.  - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The entire opening sequence was wild and psychedelic. Images contorted, collided and exploded everywhere. There wasn't really anything prioritized trumping the others. However the sequence seems to follow our characters who at this point are a couple wearing a pigeon and unicorn mask.  - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the opening sequences? The opening sequence while colorful, wild and expressive is portraying dark imagery. The sequence often showing our couple going through all sorts of trials and tribulations. From being eaten to being stabbed. This type of imagery honestly making confusion, paranoia, and a overwhelming feeling of uncertainty rampant. You really don't k...

 What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The main title shows up last during the opening sequence of this film. The film shows credits as almost like growths on the mysterious creatures skin through CGI. The film also gives other credits in a more traditional typed format way throughout the intro. - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The film keeps us following along with this one mysterious reptile like creature. The film prioritizes dark images with effects that make it seem as though you are in some type of liquid watching this mysterious creature grow.  - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the opening sequences? They establish a feeling of curiosity by not fully revealing the creature. At the same time some level of fear as to what the creature is and what they can do. The music and camera work make for a very immersive experience further driving home these feelings. 

  My definition of a thriller a would sound like this. A genre that is filled with feelings of suspense, mysteriousness, and immense tension. With this in mind me and my group came up with our opening sequence. Which is filled with the mystery of who is guilty of murder. As well as the suspense and tension of realizing that the killer is right among the seemingly innocent group of friends.

  Further exploration into the psychological genre has allowed for us to spot things that are in line with other pieces of media within the same genre including:   Common CAMS Angles High Angle: A character may seem more diminutive or exposed from this viewpoint. It could imply dominance or power dynamics. Low Angle: A character may appear more intimidating or strong when shot from a low viewpoint, which may evoke feelings of intimidation or authority. Eye Level: Eye level filming is regarded as impartial and might facilitate a closer emotional connection between the viewer and the characters. In dialogue scenes, it is frequently utilized. Movements Zoom In/Out: Zooming can be utilized to draw attention to specifics, amplify feelings, or highlight significant elements. An abrupt zoom can also have this effect. Pan: Panning offers a dynamic viewpoint and is frequently employed to expose new details in a scene or to track a character's progress. Tilt: You can emphasize depth or ...

  After researching the mystery genre, we were able to pick up on a couple consistencies throughout the genre as a whole.   Common CAMS Angles Low-Angle Views: Exudes a feeling of dominance or authority. Usually employed to unveil a crucial component in a mysterious setting or to introduce a formidable adversary. High Angle: Makes one susceptible or helpless. Frequently used to illustrate a character's fragility or loneliness, or to depict their response to an enigmatic incident. Including schedule, participant's, locations, health and safety precautions, and backup plans.   Location- We will be filming at Aurum's apartment, which is apart a larger apartment and townhouse complex called Bella Vista.   How will the titles (the words) enter and leave the screen? - The title “BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE…” will fade into the screen. How long will each title be on the screen before it disappears? - will stay for about 2-3 seconds and than disappear off the screen.

  We are researching this website because it has a wide and diverse amount of films in our genre. From Classics like the Little shop of Horrors to Terrifier 2. Films like these and thrillers like Captain America : Winter Solider and even game adaptations allow for extensive research and understanding of our genre. The website is also easier to navigate compared to the other website. The website makes it easier to find movies for our genre compared to the other website. Art of the title not only provides many films but also hundreds of studios and designers. With movies that fit the time period of today. The video interface is also easier to navigate than the other website. Art of the title also goes more in depth with production as well. The only downside is that it can be hard sometimes to find a specific movie due to the sheer amount of films the website has.

What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you like? Although the movies conventions were nothing special it did have some that I did like. The movie constantly cut to flashbacks of the main characters past. Which with every flashback helped develop the story a little more each time. At the same time setting up characters for the final fight scene of the movie. Another convention I liked was the Low- Key lighting. This was mostly used in the abandoned arcade scenes throughout the movie. This added to the spookiness and ominousness of the whole atmosphere.
